Provision + Miracles

The last three years have been _____________. Fill in the blank. So many adjectives can go here, much like Mad Libs.

Freeing.

Difficult.

Beautiful.

Challenging.

Redemptive.

Soul-crushing.

Hope-filled.

Heart-breaking.

Worth it.

My word this year is wholeness, and it’s been a meaningful companion so far. A work in progress that I plan to write about soon.

My husband’s word is breakthrough, and I wanted to take a moment to testify. Because after the rollercoaster that is the past three years (and honestly, the last decade), we’ve been in need of a win.

I’ve shared before that Jon decided in 2023 to pursue his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. It’s been a long road, full of successes and delays. There was an issue with his initial loan, and future funding was cut. We’ve done our best to make ends meet, and we’re truly grateful for the support from family and friends along the way, but it has not been easy.

A couple weeks ago, Jon got a call about a possible scholarship available locally. He texted me at work, and I cried at my desk. It felt like a breakthrough. Much-needed relief.

A miracle.

He had to write a narrative and complete an application. This past week, he received an award letter. He can now continue with his next stage of training.

The amount is what we needed for Jon to finish his next stage and to become a flight instructor.

In other news, Laci has changed majors, and decided to double major. And, she was awarded an additional scholarship and should receive more in the fall. She also got a job this semester to help with her monthly college payments.

Provision.

As our family endures some other hard circumstances, it’s faith-building and comforting to have this area taken care of.

There’s still a long journey ahead of us, but our eyes are fixed on the author and perfecter of our race. And we’re running a little lighter now.

❤️

If you haven’t listened to it yet, I want to leave you with one of my favorite songs right now: There Goes That Man by Abbie Gamboa.
