A Few of My Favorite Things: July

July has been marked by unpacking and decorating, simplifying and settling in, navigating and learning where things are. We’re still adjusting to the heat, doing our best to stay cool and hydrated. And we are in awe of God’s plan and provision, for a fresh start in a new home with an amazing church family.

Daily/Weekly Rhythms:

  • Ruth: Fields of Grace Bible Study from The Daily Grace Co.
  • Kids reading in the backyard before the temperature goes over 100°

Bible Verses:

  • “By day the Lord directs His love, at night His song is with me—a prayer to the God of my life.” – Psalm 42:8 (NIV84)
  • “Be strong (in your connection to God), do not fear; your God will come, He will come with vengeance; with divine retribution He will come to save you (make you safe and free).” – Isaiah 35:4 (my paraphrase)

Road Trip Snacks:

What’s for Dinner:

  • Slow Cooker Pot Roast – I’ve combined a couple recipes for this one (one from Fodmap Everyday and one from Sunshine & Munchkins); I just love a good, hearty crockpot meal! I sub Balsamic vinegar for red wine, and add extra beef broth.
