It’s amazing what can happen when we’re expectant. When we’re listening for His whispers, when we’re watching for His workings.
We’re awake. We’re aware. We’re in awe.
My best friend surprised me with this journal in the mail, and it has become my adventure journal with my Heavenly Father.

A place to jot down the truths spoken on our journey together. An opportunity for collecting the moments and memories of being with God. Pages to reflect on who He says I am, and to discover who He says He is. Somewhere to record the wonderful things that happen when I’m with Him.
I’m learning again to practice intentionality because this life is moving fast and swirling with distractions. The enemy would love for us to be so busy that we forget to slow down and see the wonder and inspiration that surrounds us.
Even now, I need that perspective shift… where my eyes move from a downward gaze, defeated and overwhelmed — to full of faith, fixed on my Creator, my Father, my Friend. Expectant – looking forward to Him.
“How blessed is the one whom You choose and bring near to You to dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Your holy temple.” – Psalm 65:4 (NASB)
What joy is found in accepting the invitation, to believe that He chooses us and brings us near to Himself, because He loves us and wants to be with us. He calls us sons and daughters, and gives us a place to call home.
“… we approach as chosen and accepted ones, to become dwellers in the divine household: this is heaped up blessedness, vast beyond conception. But dwelling in the house we are treated as sons, for the servant abideth not in the house forever, but the son abideth ever. Behold what manner of love and blessedness the Father has bestowed upon us that we may dwell in His house, and go no more out for ever. Happy men who dwell at home with God.” – Charles Spurgeon
God welcomes us in and receives us, just as we are. He provides a permanent residence, safe in His hands. He satisfies our souls and fills our hearts and minds with His goodness.
“God keeps a good house. There is an abundance of goodness in His house, righteousness, grace, and all the comforts of the everlasting covenant; there is enough for all, enough for each; it is ready, always ready; and all on free cost, without money and without price.” – Matthew Henry
He paid the ultimate price once and for all, He made a way for us to enter into a relationship with Him – through His son Jesus. Now we can come freely into His presence, His house. The place where He dwells, the place we were created to live.
It’s a new month, a new day, a new moment. Let’s remember to stay expectant as we walk through this season of our lives. Your Father in Heaven wants to be a part of your adventures on this earth.
