All Things

Sometimes the rain falls, the discouragement is real, and the lies get loud. In these moments, if we’ll choose to lean into God, we can hear His whispers of truth that breathe life into our brokenness and make us bold again.

I was in that place Sunday morning, at church… overwhelmed, worried, anxious. God gently reminded me (through a worship song, words spoken by our pastors, and Scripture I had written on my heart) that “all things” are possible, made new, and turned to good.

All things are possible with God.

“Looking at them, Jesus said, ‘With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.'” – ‭‭Mark‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Things that are impossible for or with people (including ourselves!) are possible with Him. Our God is able – more than able. He has no limits or restrictions. He is faithful, and His Word never returns to Him void. He is seated on the throne, our Majestic King.

All things are made new by Him.

“And He who sits on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new…'” – Revelation‬ ‭21:5‬ ‭NASB‬‬

Whether we see it this side of Heaven or not, He is the One who makes all things new. The Greek word for “new” is kainos, and it means “new, which as recently made is superior to what it succeeds; ‘I bring all things into a new and better condition’.” He is making everything beautiful, better, in His perfect timing. The best is yet to come!

All things are turned to good in Him.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” – ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:28‬ ‭NASB‬‬

The word for “good” is the Greek word agathos, meaning “useful, salutary; for good, to advantage.” He makes all things work together for our benefit, to our advantage! On purpose, for His purpose. Even the hard things are rendered useful as we receive His love and grow in our love for Him, as we partner with Him to see His goodness in all things.

Our God is a God of restoration and redemption. He loves to take the impossible and make it possible. He delights in transforming old things into new. He is the Master at turning to good what the enemy intended for evil.

And remember the phrase that each verse has in common: all things. Not just some. Not a select few. Not the ones we pray for enough. All things.

With Him, all things are possible.

By Him, all things are made new.

In Him, all things are turned to good.

I pray these truths build you up and make you brave in your faith today!
